Funny thing, designing book covers. Almost like writing in that what you do never seems good enough. Often times, that is true, especially it seems where Fantasy is concerned. Fantasy series to be exacter.
I started my journey of Calasade some eight years ago when I first started developing Calasade based on Ancient Rome. As my knowledge of Ancient Rome grew, so did the sophistication of what I was doing. The more I knew, the more I changed things. And here I thought I was being smart waiting for five years to write anything regarding Calasade.
The same is true of the art for Calasade. Illustrations, yes, but the covers definitely.
Of the stories I have planned and those I’ve done, none have proven harder than Sanguinem Isle. See, it’s the first full novel in what will be a long line of them. Sanguinem is the quintessential guinea pig. I’ve gone through (I believe) five different cover versions for it. This latest, which I present to you now, features the finalized elements (bottom panel) that all e-covers for Calasade books are to feature.
Needless to say, I hope you like it. J
You can get Calasade: Sanguinem Isle at Amazon for Kindle and paperback. Did I mention the novel is illustrated?
